The Workshop Behind the Name
Horova opened on Sukhumvit Road with a modest bench and a clear idea of what good watch care looks like. The name combines the Thai word for time — hora — with a nod to the European tradition of horological ateliers that informed our working method.
The workshop handles mechanical calibers from most major Swiss and Japanese manufacturers, from everyday worn pieces that have fallen behind on rate to vintage movements that have not been touched in a decade or more. Every job starts the same way: the movement comes out, is assessed under magnification, and a written note is made of what is found before anything is touched.
Beyond one-off servicing, we offer strap and bracelet fitting and an annual collection care plan for owners who keep several pieces and want them maintained on a schedule rather than repaired in a rush. The plan suits people who buy and hold watches long-term and would rather stay ahead of wear than react to it.
Bangkok has no shortage of repair counters. What is harder to find is a place where your watch is handled by a single person, explained to you in plain terms, and returned with documentation of what was done. That is what Horova was set up to provide.

How We Work
Pre-Service Assessment
Every movement is examined and documented before any work begins. You receive notes on condition before we proceed.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
All disassembled parts pass through an ultrasonic cleaner and rinse cycle before reassembly with fresh lubricants.
Timing Machine Verification
Each serviced caliber is measured on a Witschi timing instrument across multiple positions. Results are included in the service record.
Written Service Records
Each completed job is documented in writing. You keep a copy. It is useful for insurance, resale and planning future servicing.
Professional Liability Cover
Watches in our care are covered under professional liability insurance. Details are available to clients on request.
Secure Storage During Service
Pieces awaiting work or collection are held in locked storage. Access is limited to workshop staff only.

Mechanical Watch Care in Bangkok
Mechanical movements are precision assemblies with dozens of interacting parts, each requiring careful attention during a service. The interval between services depends on the caliber, how often the watch is worn, and the conditions it encounters. For most pieces, a movement service every four to six years is reasonable — though watches worn daily in a humid climate like Bangkok's may benefit from attention a little sooner.
At Horova, we assess each caliber independently rather than applying a standard procedure regardless of condition. Some movements come in needing only cleaning and lubrication. Others arrive with worn pivots, broken jewels or corroded parts that need sourcing before reassembly can begin. We identify these before quoting so you can decide how to proceed.
Strap and bracelet work is often overlooked until a spring bar fails or a bracelet starts pinching. A well-fitted strap changes how a watch sits on the wrist and how it reads at a glance. Our fitting visits are short and can usually be completed the same day.
The Collection Care Plan suits owners who hold several pieces and prefer to stay ahead of wear rather than deal with problems as they surface. We set a schedule at the start of the year and work through it methodically, noting condition at each visit and flagging anything that warrants attention before the next interval.
